New Apparatus

Five (5) New Fire Engines

Coming to Yakima County Fire District #5 are five new Type 1 Fire Engines. Each engine comes with a 1000 gallon tank, structure-rated pump with high pressure mode for the front remote controlled deck gun operation and booster reel. A full complement of ladders are also included. The most attractive features of this apparatus are its 4×4 and pump and roll capabilities.

The first engine has arrived and will be stationed at our Station 6 in Wapato. Additional engines have been ordered for our Station 4 in Gamache, Station 7 in Sawyer, Station 11 in Granger and Station 12 in Outlook. Estimated delivery for these remaining engines is mid-2026.

One (1) New Water Tender

Fire District #5 has on order a new Water Tender to be stationed at our Station 10 in Zillah as 810. This new apparatus will come with a 3000 gallon tank, structure rated fire pump and dual booster reels. The 2009 model year water tender this truck replaces will be kept in service in Zillah and will replace our 1979 model year reserve water tender. Estimated delivery of this new apparatus is August of 2025.

Five (5) New Brush Trucks

Also on order for Fire District #5 are five new brush trucks. These brush trucks will feature a 500 gallon tank, crew cab chassis, remote front water nozzle and full complement of hand tools. The trucks are destined for our Station 4 in Gamache, Station 6 in Wapato, Station 9 in Toppenish, Station 10 in Zillah and Station 14 in Grandview. The trucks are currently in production and are slated to be in service by mid-2025.
