Incident Summary: District 5 units were dispatched to a possible attic fire at 380 1st Street in White Swan. Our dispatch received two possible addresses for this fire. Our dispatch was able to quickly determine that it was the 380 address. Units arrived and found smoke coming out of all the roof vents and around the chimney. Fire personnel were able to quickly contain the fire to the attic space. There was water damage to the ceiling and water inside the structure however because of the fast actions of fire personnel most of the contents of the structure were saved. The fire possibly started from a chimney. Power to the residence was disconnected by PP&L. The family was in the process of moving in when the fire occurred. The owner and family expressed there sincere thanks to all personnel for the fast response and the care of their belongings. The fire was extinguished and the scene was released to the owner. Yakima County Fire Marshalls Office was handling the investigation.
